Below is this lumber futures from 6/1/2022. You can go to Nasdaq and see that the 5 year average floated around 500-550 prior to last summer. It peaked in May of last year to 1544 and then again in Feb of this year at 1320. Today it opened at $653. Just a little bit of daily info for those considering building a custom home. Lumber made up a large portion of the cost to build in the past 12-24 months. This will take awhile to get to the market so don't expect these prices to be in the lumber yard tomorrow but there's some light on the horizon.
